Week 19

Be impressed that I uploaded these pictures within a week. I'm not sure how that happened. In the interest of sensitivity to anyone who doesn't want to see belly shots, here is your cue to click away.

WEEK 19: Size of a Mango

This was our first belly pic in our new house! That's probably why I look so exhausted - we've been moving, cleaning and unpacking nonstop for a week.

(By the way, don't those grey bricks look nice? Thanks! We painted them immediately. They were ugly and dirty and had splatters of white paint from the previous owners. We think this looks much better.)

I think my belly really popped this week. It's not quite as obvious in the picture above, but on Wednesday I came home and Mike took one look at me and said "Hello, baby belly." My sister said something similiar when she saw me a few days later.

My friend told me that she wanted to see what it looked like in normal clothes, so here's an example from Saturday, on our way to a wedding.

Do you guys know that my sister is also pregnant? She was keeping it on the down low for awhile, so I don't think I ever mentioned it. In fact, I didn't exactly get permission to use this photo here, so I hope I didn't just get myself in trouble (sorry Em!), but she's been sharing far and wide for awhile now. She is due exactly nine days after me (me: January 10, Emily: January 19). She has had an angelic pregnancy so far, so I kind of hate her. Not so much anymore, but when I was on my death bed every day for a few months I sure did!

Anyway, I feel incredibly blessed to be going through this with her. It would have been extremely difficult to watch her get pregnancy easily if it had happened before me, but the universe worked it out so she found out her news just a few days after I shared mine. And now we talk as often as possible to swap pregnancy stories!

Here's another one from the night before the wedding.

Yes, that's a third baby bump you see there. It belongs to our friend who is due in November, but I didn't get permission from her either, and she's not my sister, so I won't risk it.

My ultrasound is this Friday! I can't wait to watch the little bugger move around. I've been feeling some little kicks over the last week (or at least I think that's what it is!), and I'm excited to see him or her in action.

You definitely have an obvious baby bump now. You look great! And I think it is awesome that you can share this experience with your sister. I was pregnant the first time 2 1/2 weeks behind a friend and my SIL. It was fun to be able to share it with people I was close to.

Whoa, that is definitely a baby bump. If I didn't know you, I'd totally start spreading rumors about how you were knocked up.
