Miss Scarlet

My baby sister (I swear last year she was still a toddler) is having a baby! She's due a month and a day after my wedding. July 13. She knows she's having a girl, and she and her husband picked out a name long ago. In fact, we've been referring to her as Scarlet since before we knew for sure she was a girl!

As I did for Brady, my nephew born to another sister in December, I made Scarlet a blanket.

Kelli's going with a very colorful nursery, and red is her favorite color (which, oddly, really has nothing to do with why she likes the name Scarlet, as far as I know). Other than a few sewing issues along the way, I'm really happy with how this turned out.

We're all thrilled about this baby! My sister Emily and I have it all figured out---whenever we all get together, Andrea and Kelli will be ready to hand over the babies, and we'll be ready to grab them. Two babies + two of us = no fighting.

And just because I can't resist, here's one of my happy Brady boy.

I also love the name Scarlet, but I would spell it Scarlett after Scarlett O'hara. I like the southern belle connection. :)
