Wanna swing?

I was fascinated by the high-flying acrobats at the circus as a kid. We didn't go often, but when we did get to see the circus, my favorite act was the trapeze. Watching them, I could feel myself soaring and flipping through the air. I used to practice pointing my toes and arching my back just so. I daydreamed about tumbling between the swinging bars, falling gracefully to the net below, flipping over the side to the ground, and climbing up and do it all over again.
Then I grew up and forgot about that dream. Once I saw someone do a trapeze class on a reality show, but I assumed that was a special thing set up for TV. I didn't even consider that it was something I could ever have access to. That is until one of my friends said she had signed up for a trapeze class near her home. She lives across the country from me, but suddenly a light went off. I bet there's a trapeze class near me too!
Sure enough. So I recruited my sister, Emily, and at the end of August we'll be taking a two-hour trapeze class together! I think I better build a little upper body strength before then, but I'm so excited for this.
(For anyone in MI that's interested, the class is available at Boyne Mountain for three weekends at the end of summer.)

My parents' new house is near where the Ringling circus used to make its winter home and there's a trapeze school too. We go watch sometimes. The dude is afraid of heights and doesn't like me getting up on a ladder, so I'd have to sneak off if I were to join in...
Freakin' awesome! You have to tell us how it goes! And take pictures! For THE LOVE OF GOD, take pictures!
KICK.ASS.DUDE.
PS: Great workout. See???? You're starting to think exercise is painful fun, aren't you?? ;)
WHAT?! How is this something that doesn't come up in conversation on google chat? Seriously.
Robin, because you're the worst google chatter of all time, and you always disappear before I can tell you cool things like this.
I'm really not. Well, at least its not ALWAYS my fault. I'm pretty sure google just hates me and always signs me out of chat.
This is totally awesome! I'm jealous!
I've taken 2 trapeze classes and they were AWESOME. I was sad when the trapeze school left Baltimore.
You're going to have a blast! And you'll also be ridiculously sore.
[...] was signing up for a class in Seattle, I began researching options here in Michigan. The only thing I found was several hours north of where I live, but I called up my sister and pretty soon we were signed [...]
