Last year I really wanted to go to the BlogHer conference. It was in Chicago, a mere three-hour drive away, and I could have gotten the student rate. But in the end, nearly all of the people I was so hoping to meet there couldn't go. So I stayed home, too.
This year BlogHer is in New York City (August 6-7), and I'd love to go, but 1) I'm paying for a wedding and honeymoon just two months prior, 2) it's not a mere three-hour drive away, and 3) I can no longer get the student rate. The conference, unfortunately, is out. It's just not doable.
BUT!!! I've gotten word that several of the same people I missed out on meeting last year will be attending this year's BlogHer. And I want to go. Still can't afford the conference, but I'm thinking maybe a weekend in NYC is in order. If I find a reasonable flight and some roomies, I think I can swing it. And dude! A weekend in New York with some awesome ladies! I so want that.
Here's the question. Are you going to BlogHer? If not, are you maybe thinking weekend in New York? You know you are. Seriously, let me know if you'll be there that weekend, conference or not. Convince me I need to go.

Depending on what your situation is and where you'd be meeting people, flying into HPN (White Plains) is usually cheaper than flying into JFK or LaGuardia.
I've always wanted to go but am a super punk about going places alone!
And as awesome as NYC would be (because its driveable for me) - I'll be in California that weekend!
I would totally go - but that is a couple weeks after having the baby so it won't work :(

Awww man... I went to BlogHer in 2008 (in SF) and it was so much fun. I didn't attend the conference, just hung out with some awesome ladies and I wish I could go again. NYC is just too far from the Westcoast. I still hope that you will go!
I am not going to BlogHer this year, but if you're interested in going to a conference, there's one taking place in Holland in May. It won't be the huge swagfest full of internet celebrities that Blogher is, but it would be a great chance to connect with local bloggers.

Most likely not going to BlogHer, but I'm ALWAYS up for a weekend in the city. We're only a bitty drive and a train ride away, and I always need an excuse to visit.
