Wanted: new design

It's been suggested (by someone who's pretty in tune with web trends) that I redesign my site.* Brad, the ex (ok fine, he's the one that suggested a new look), has offered to work on the behind-the-scenes stuff, but I need help with the visual design. I have no talents in this area. I know what I think looks good, and I believe I have good taste, but I don't know how to actually create it.
For this space, I don't want to use a template, and I also don't really want to buy a design that is available to anyone. I'd like something original.
So I ask you, dear readers, do you know anyone who could do this? And who won't cost a fortune of course. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Maybe a new design would inspire me to write more than thrice** a month.
*For the record, I still rather like the look of this blog, but I admit, it doesn't feel fresh anymore.

Shannon! I know someone! I'm hiring her right now to do my site, actually. She's cheap, fast, and I love her work. It's hip and fresh.

The only thing is, I think she's mostly focused on Blogger blogs, but has some experience with Wordpress. I think it's worth inquiring, regardless. Tell her I sent ya. :)
I would suggest that you look for a template that you like (like the general feel/layout) and then start tweaking the CSS (different font, font-sizes, header, colors, etc.)
It's not that hard to do it yourself.
Unless, of course, you want to have someone create a COMPLETE new and unique template, just for you.
It's also very easy to make your own header images in Photoshop.
Let me know when you find someone! I need help with everything. I'm bored with my blog.
I've actually done that with my Bad Parking blog and the Shan & Mike blog, but for Doahleigh, I want something more special and unique I think.
