Things that happened that annoyed me
Friday, March 13, 2009 at 06:05AM
1. At a lunch meeting yesterday, a lady dropped a new plastic plate on the ground. The bottom of the plate touched the ground for 0.5 seconds, but she picked it up and threw it away. And used a different one. How wasteful.
2. Someone, in a professional email, wrote "prolly" instead of "probably." She also wrote "are" in the place of "our."
3. I set up an appointment for yesterday with someone weeks ago. When I called in the morning to confirm, I found out she is on vacation all week. Lovely.
4. My eyeball freaked out again. The Monster Eye keeps coming back, and it's really becoming a problem.
5. People acted like assholes. As usual.
And so that I'm not entirely negative, here's one not-annoying thing that happened recently:
1. The Giraffe made me some delicious roasted chicken and potatoes with radishes (which we recently (and accidentally) discovered are quite good when cooked!). I feel so spoiled.

Yay, for the positive!! Sorry about your eye :( Suckage.
Re: #2. Was she drunk? Because if so, that might be more funny than annoying.
Re: No. 3. This reminds me of all the times I've set up interviews with sources and they're not there when I call. Or, I TRY to set up interviews and they just choose to ignore me. I promise, I'm only going to write good things. I'm nice, I really am!
Re: No. 5. Yes. All the time. I think I hate more people than I actually like. Drivers, customers, mean coworkers, etc. Sometimes it takes major effort not to let the asshole-ness get me down, and to remember the good people/things in life, you know?
sometimes these lists just make you feel better. --prolly eh?
Bad grammar in the professional world is horrific. "Prolly" instead of "probably" is really bad and that person is not fit for the job.
I've noticed a growing popularity in using "text" language in professional e-mails. "r u attending the meeting this afternoon?" etc. I mean REALLY?!
As for the plate - reading that statement actually made ME mad too!
