NaBloWhat?

Just this morning I was reminded of the upcoming annual NaBloPoMo, something I've participated in for the last three years (not very well last year though). And I realized I've heard very little about it this year. I  started rooting around for info and wasn't finding much.

Then, it's like Eden read my mind because I just got the official "It's NaBloPoMo time again!" email in my inbox. I signed up right away, and I'm trying to figure out how to add a nifty badge to my sidebar. Every year I end up finding many new blogs to read and making new friends, which is my favorite part about this thing. And I'm going to try to be better about the daily posting - you know, the point of NaBloPoMo - than I was last year.

So I'm curious. Are you participating?

You just reminded me that it's coming up. I participated last year...though I didn't "win". I don't know if I'll do it this year or not. It's a lot pressure.

You beat me year 1. I beat you year 2. Best of 3, my friend?

I'm definitely considering it. :)

I cannot imagine posting every single day, although it would probably be a good exercise. Also do not entirely understand how it works officially. How do you "win"? What are the benefits of signing up on the blog?

Dori - As far as I know, you "win" by being randomly drawn for one of the prizes that Eden, the organizer, collects from donors. You can only win if you post every day though.

As for registering your blog on the NaBloPoMo site, it just means that you're listed in the 'directory' so others can see you're participating and maybe stop by and check out your space. Also, you'll be listed in the Randomizer, which people use to find new and interesting blogs. If you're interested in making new blog connections during the month, it's good to register your blog.

While this sounds like something I would LOVE to participate in, November is also the beginning of our busy season at work, which means lots of 14-hour days and not lots of time for blogging. As is I'm writing 2 and 3 posts during my days off and scheduling them throughout the week in order to maintain semi-regular postings, and it's only going to get worse.
Good luck, though!

I've done it for the last two years -- time to go for the third! :)

I just found your blog through the NaBloPoMo-randomizer... :) So I thought I would leave quick note, letting you know that I'll be participating as well!

Good luck!

I am totally in.

I think the meeting new bloggie friends is my favorite part. Some of my longest-term bloggie relationships are from my first NaBloPoMo in '07 (I think that was the first year, or my first year, or not, who knows).
