A Cingular measure

List of reasons my cell phone is a piece of crap:

  • Rarely works in my apartment

  • Drops calls if I talk more than five minutes

  • Volume stops working in the middle of conversations

  • Volume stops working when I place a call meaning I often can't hear the recipient answer

  • Sending and receiving text messages often causes phone to have complete meltdown

  • Picture files disappear

  • Images (background, startup screen, contact pictures, etc) don't show up

  • Often won't ring even when not set on silent

  • Needs to be turned off and back on twice a day

  • Won't turn on upon first attempt

  • Upon second attempt, power button must be depressed consistently for one minute

  • Once turned on, takes three minutes to find service

List of reasons why Cingular better give me a free replacement phone:

  • I didn't get the phone I wanted in the first place because they were out of stock, and instead got a phone I very much didn't want

  • Phone is in perfect condition physically, indicating my proper use of phone

  • Which means it's not my damn fault the phone sucks ass

List of reasons I haven't tried to replace the phone despite the fact that it has been malfunctioning for months:

  • No Cingular stores in Jackson

  • Nearest Cingular store is too far away to justify the gas money to get there unless I have at least one other reason to drive that far

  • I have not had at least one other reason to drive that far since I decided that I deserve a new phone

  • When I tried to do something over the phone, I was transferred in circles and got a multitude of mixed messages until I finally lost the strength to care

List of reasons I will not return to Cingular when my contract ends, especially if they don't give me a new phone for FREE:

  • The network with the fewest dropped calls drops my calls 80% of the time

  • I pay 50 bucks a month and can't even use my phone for fear I'll lose the call or lose all functionality of my phone

  • I revert to text messages when I can't make a call due to horrible service and then get charged 10 cents per text

  • So basically I have to pay extra for the fact that the service sucks

List of reasons I want to slam my head into a wall right now:

  • My cell phone

I hate that. Sounds like your phone is a real piece of crap.

I get great service when I'm not at home (I live in nowheresvill where no one gets service). I love Alltel though it doesn't seem all that popular around here. Nextel seems to be the big winner but I find them way to expensive for stuff that I just don't need. I don't need that walkie talkie thing that is so loud the guy three aisles over in Wal-Mart can hear my conversation. That has always seemed to be the biggest attraction. I love my Alltel! I can text as much as I want. Send pictures. Call anyone who has Alltel at anytime for nothing and that counts for just about everyone I talk to. I have enough anytime minutes (and then some - a lot actually) to cover those people that don't use Alltel that I want to talk to. It's great! All for less $60. Oh and I have a nationwide plan so when I go to places like Florida or New York and I'm roaming, it doesn't matter. It's all free. Yippeeeeee! =)

I hope you get something worked out though. I hate when you're paying a bunch of money for nothing. I mean, if the thing doesn't work or you can't make calls for fear of not hearing or dropping, what's the point of having the thing. I'd be peeved.
