BlogFriday: Danger

I don't really mean to keep doing my BlogFriday posts on Friday, it's just that's when I always seem to remember. Must be the name. This week's word is danger. A good word, yet I was uninspired. I didn't know what to write regarding danger, so I searched for google images. That's always a good place to go when you're feeling sort of insipid. I found this.

And I started to wonder: why the skull and cross bones? Why does that represent danger? Like, okay, if you eat this poison or if you step into this minefield, surely you will die. And when you die, we will wait until your flesh has completely decomposed, then we will collect your skull and both of your femurs, and we're gonna set them up just like this. We'll cross your thigh bones and set your skull on top. Not sure what we'll do with the rest of your skeleton. Maybe let the dogs play with it. But the point, obviously, is that you don't want your skull and femurs to end up like this do you? No. Therefore, whatever you're about to do is dangerous and you should stop.

That's all I've got today. I have a friend visiting from out of town tonight, so maybe I'll have something a little more substantial this weekend.

(I just previewed this post, and that's rather a larger skull and cross bones image I've placed at the top of my blog. That should be fun. Until tomorrow.)
