Ireland: Day 2
Also see Day 1.
Day 2: Dublin
We were only going to be in Dublin for two days, so we spent the second day seeing some of the things we skipped over the day before. First we walked to Christ Church, mostly just to take pictures because it’s stunning.

It’s kind of annoying to pay to enter a church, but clearly it’s so much more than that. Plus the fee included a visit to the crypt which was every bit as creepy as it sounds.

After that we hiked back to Trinity College to take the full tour. We saw the Book of Kells and the Old Library, but unfortunately weren’t allowed to take any pictures. Too bad because that library was captivating and one of my favorite places we visited. This isn’t my photo, but look:

Anyway, after Trinity, we walked to Shop Street, where of course we did some shopping. I actually didn’t buy much there, but don’t I fit right in on the streets of Dublin?

Next we hit up St Stephen’s Green, a beautiful park slash garden. It was a nice day, so the green was full of people enjoying the sun.

After walking around for awhile, we went out to dinner where I enjoyed my first of several Bulmers (hard cider):

And that, my friends, let to a pretty crazy night at the famous Temple Bar.

The craziness was fueled by the many (many many) beverages provided by a couple of Dubliners who grew fond of our group. Although it was mostly fun, it was a little too fueled for me, and I ended up taking it easy the rest of the trip. One super crazy night is all I needed.

Awesome pictures. I bet it’s even better in person. I found that words, nor pictures could describe my experience.
So I see you carrying the ever-so-sought-for bag. How did it work out?
Now you’ve got me in the mood for a Maeve Binchy novel!
I echo Jess – how did the bag work out!?!?
P.S. So jealous, but so happy that you got to have such a great experience.
