BlogFriday: Annoyance (Yes I’m grumpy)

I’ve been really tired again lately. All week I’ve gone to bed early, and I sleep through the night, yet my alarm is like a torture device in the morning. I’m so tired, I try to make deals with god about how I’ll never kill baby birds again if only I can sleep another hour (please tell me you know that’s a joke–I don’t really make deals with god). I drag my body around in the morning and drag myself to the car. I usually do okay during my commute because morning radio makes me laugh. But all eight hours at work are a struggle. I’ve heard that sleeping on the job is something that actually gets you fired around here, so I force myself to stay upright all day. I want to take a nap when I get home, every day, but I’m either too busy or too scared that if I do it’ll screw me up and I’ll won’t sleep at night.

I know, exercise more, eat better, buy a new bed. Whatever, I know. But this week is just particularly bad. I’ve been getting at least eight hours of sleep a night, yet in the morning it feels more like three.

I just got up to get some ibuprofen. Since I was going to the kitchen, I grabbed my empty soda can to recycle it. When I stood up, I thought to myself, now don’t forget the ibuprofen. I walked to the kitchen, rinsed and emptied the pop can, threw it in the recycling bag. Then I left. I got all the way back to my computer before I realized what a fucking idiot I am. That’s how my brain has been working the last couple years. I hate it.

I’ve come to loathe the sound the water cooler makes. I sit by one at work, and every time someone fills their glass, the water cooler glug glug glugs. I hate that sound.

    i’ve been tired too .. for no reason i can think of other than its dark so early and it messes with me … i hate leaving work in the dark, sigh …

    Tired. Hate dragging my butt out of bed. Hate working. You know the rest….

    Three times in the last two days, I have either gotten my purse out to get something or went to retrieve something and completely lost my train of thought. Here I am, digging in my purse. For what? I have no clue. But I found something that intrigued me in my purse. Put my purse away, go about my business and, out of the blue, completely recall what I was going after. Stupid head!

    I am having the same problem! Went to bed at 10 p.m. last night and slept for 12 hrs. No good reason for it.

    And I am flaky too – have taken the wrong train twice this month. I find myself zoning out and then realize I am traveling in the wrong direction.

    Maybe it has to do with daylight savings?

    I feel your pain. And exercising, eating better and getting a new bed don’t necessarily help (because they haven’t helped me).

    When I’m stressed (like oh… around the holidays when your crazy MIL won’t shut the hell up and stop throwing tantrums or at work…), I generally get up several times to pee in the middle of the night. I am exhausted everyday.
