Lunch with the girls gone wrong

Today I almost lost my mind. Over basically nothing. I met some of my family for lunch—my mom, my aunt, my sisters, my sister-in-law and my niece—to plan decorations for my grandparents’ upcoming anniversary party. I like being creative, so I was looking forward to a nice productive lunch. But after we ate, we decided to start shopping for some needed materials. We went to three stores, but we didn’t find half of what we needed. And have you ever tried to coordinate six people in a crowded store? It’s hell.

Everyone was distracted and not focusing on the mission. Nobody knew where anything was, so we all just stood around staring at things and getting in the way of more experienced shoppers. I do no handle that shit well, so by the time we go to the last store I was sweating and my heart was racing and I snapped at everyone for anything they said. NO, I DO NOT KNOW WHERE THE RIBBON IS, DO I LOOK LIKE I KNOW WHERE THE RIBBON IS? And when I’m that stressed, I lose the ability to function or make decisions, so I became essentially worthless.

Something that was supposed to be fun turned into something entirely not fun, all because I’m a basketcase who can’t keep her cool. I really need to find a way to chill the eff out.

Goodness. Can’t wait to see you when you’re wedding planning. Make sure Brad isn’t around when you’re shopping for DIY supplies.
