What is a snail? An amphibian? A crustacean? A mollusk?

I was weeding a garden yesterday and something approximately like this

attacked me. Yeah, attacked. As in stretched its nasty slimy neck out toward me. After nearly barfing, I ran inside and that was the end of gardening. I still feel like the gooey bastard is crawling all over me. I hate creatures.

I’m sorry to hear that… did you know some snails are extremely venomous? They also can sleep for up to three years straight. I wouldn’t be too worried that the one that attacked you is venomous though. You’d be dead already. Oh yeah, and it’s a mullusk, though I doubt you actually care. (I once wrote a paper on the lovely things)

Wow good info! I was kinda thinking they were mollusks. I’ve always thought they were disgusting, but this one was particularly gross. It was all huge and stuff. And it’s slimy little body was icky grey. Bleh!

    hehe… sorry about the nerdy response… :)

here, you always have to watch for snails on the sidewalk. I crunched one a couple weeks ago and felt awful. You can still see the residue on the walk… the path he continued to take after having a heel pass through his innards. I’m so sorry snail.
