What to do, what to do?
Options for the near future (as in post-July):
1) Do another year as a VISTA at JCC. This means I’ll be in Jackson until August 2006. I like the position, hate the location.
2) Be a VISTA somewhere else. This means getting out of MI, but presents problems such as housing, etc.
3) Become an Americorps*NCCC Team Leader. This means getting out of MI and being committed until August 2006. I’d be living in Sacramento, Charleston SC, or Washington DC while traveling around to do various direct service projects.
4) Move to San Diego. I could be there as long or as briefly as I like. But I have no guarantees for decent employment, etc. However, I’d get to live with Robin and near Erica.
5) Apply frantically for jobs everywhere and take the first good one I get. Granted I get one at all.
I’m supposed to know what I’m doing by Friday so I can write my letter of intent to my VISTA supervisor. HELP! Any advice, thoughts, words of encouragement. You can be as biased as you want too. I just need opinions because I am incapable of making any life decisions without lots of input. Thank you my dear dear friends who put up with me!

Well if you go to California, in August when Amanda and I take our road trip we could come visit you!

4) for sure. If your only concern is a job- then you must come. Remember even if you get a minimum wage job- it’s $6.75, and everything is really more than that. Jobs everywhere. and i really miss my friends.

regarding 1) i would recommend not doing anything that involves something that you hate.

Think ahead 20-40 years and ask yourself which options you’d regret NOT doing the most.

As much as you would be missed *soon I may not have any friends in the state of Michigan* I say do what you REALLY want to. And from what I’ve been hearing lately that involves leaving the state, more specifically going to San Diego. If the only thing keeping you from going there is the not having a job first thing. Wing it. I hear the market is really good out there. Who wouldn’t want to hire you?? Go for the Gold!

I pick 4. Obviously anything that involves living with me would be my top choice!
But, it looks like everyone else thinks you should do it too!
