Not exactly an interesting entry; but from boredom, worse things have been written

I don’t know if you know this about me, but I HATE winter! I shouldn’t have to walk to my car in the freezing cold ten minutes before I have to actually leave for work. I shouldn’t have to come back out to my car ten minutes later and find that it still hasn’t defrosted! Not even a little. I shouldn’t have to scrape my windshield off while my hands turn to ice because I forgot my mittens at work Friday. I shouldn’t have to steer with my elbows because the steering wheel is frigid. I shouldn’t have to complain about this. It should all just go away. Or I should move. That would be good.

I went to a Golden Jets hockey game Friday, and even though we left before the third period because I hate sitting in bleachers, there’s just something about a flock of people floating around the ice and getting into the occasional fight that I love. I think hockey is my favorite sport to watch. Live that is. Sports on tv suck in general.

I only have to get through two and a half days of work, then I get to go home to G-Rap for a week! It’ll be a long two and half days though because there are no students and no faculty around, and I can’t do a whole lot without them. So please post comments for me or send me emails, give me something to do!

Oh, on Friday, my supervisor called me down to her office and there sat a laundry basket full of gifts. She said that everyone in the department usually adopts a family for Christmas, but this year they decided to ‘adopt’ me. (Ya know, cuz as a VISTA I’m a po’ mofo) There were gift certificates and candles and lotions and cards. It was so thoughtful and I felt so unworthy.

This weekend was a good one for free stuff! At Meijer I got two pairs of shoes–50% off–that I desperately needed for work. (Being the thrifty shopper I am, I refused to buy them until they were AT LEAST 50% off, so I’ve been eying them for awhile) Plus I had a 10% off coupon. But I still thought it was weird that my total was only 24 dollars because I bought some groceries too. Upon looking at my receipt at home, I discovered that the cashier messed up and gave me one whole pair of shoes for free! Then Brian looked at his receipt and discovered that the same cashier had only charged 5 cents of his 35 dollars of merchandise to his debit card. The rest was supposedly paid in cash, but in reality it wasn’t. He got a cordless phone, a DVD and groceries for 5 fricking cents! Then at WalMart I was buying three pairs of black socks for a dollar each. I went through the U-Scan lane and the computer messed up and only charged me for two pairs of socks. Do I feel bad about these things? Not really. If it wasn’t Meijer and WalMart–two major money-sucking corporations–I’d feel a little guilty. But I figure they owe me something for all the business I’ve given them over the years. Not to mention the horrible year of my life I spent working at Meijer!

I’m officially just typing to type. To avoid doing the small amount of work I actually have. And now I’ll stop.

(What does exanimate mean?)

To be without animation, dead basically. Not sure if it’s used as a verb or not.

In answer to your question, exanimate means dead. I think it also means unsympathetic? I’m not sure though.
