more bday fun
My day continued to be fun after I left work. I got another card, handheld Tetris (which I played much too long last night), dinner at Outback (the chicken griller: orgasmic; and the bread was exceptionally delicious), and a homemade strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting (my favorite!). Also a bunch of phone calls, all of which I missed somehow, from friends, all three sisters, parents, etc. Then this morning back at work I got yet another card with a poinsettia! And a million “How was your birthday?”s People are too kind.
I’ve only met two people in my life who have the same birthday as me. Both of these people I no longer know. There’s a lot of people with birthdays on Dec 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10…you get the idea. But rarely any actually on the 8th. Last night at Outback I heard the man at the table behind me tell the server that it was his son’s birthday (the son was also in attendance and had apparently just turned ten). At the table next to us there was a girl wearing a plastic crown who was opening presents, so I assume it was her birthday as well! I felt like I should introduce myself and let them know we all share a birthday. But I didn’t.

John Lennon has your birthday. I remember that from your birthday book. Either that- or he died on your birthday… hmm…

yeah, he died the exact day I was born. I could be John Lennon reincarnate… oh except I’m not musically talented or creative.
